Blunt Calls For Spending Hike For Higher Ed

January 6, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

Governor Matt Blunt is proposing spending more money for higher education. In his State of the State Address on Wednesday, the Governor will call for a two percent funding increase for colleges and universities. The proposed $17.1-Million increase to two-year and four-year colleges and universities would bring to $873.8-Million the amount of state money headed to higher education in the 2007 fiscal year. Almost half the new funding would be given to the University of Missouri.
