The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t saying anything and neither is Herman Edwards. But reports from New York indicate that he will soon be the next head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. Edwards still has two years remaining on his contract with the Jets, which means the Chiefs would have to provide compensation in the form of draft picks if he were to be hired by the Chiefs.

From 1990-1995 Edwards worked for the Chiefs in a number of capacities, including defensive backs coach. He and Chiefs President Carl Peterson are close friends.

The Rams will conduct an interview with Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer on Thursday. Zimmer got his start in coaching as a part-time assistant at the University of Missouri.
