The Missouri St. Lady Bears dropped a 92-89 heart-breaker in overtime to Wichita St. Tuesday night in Springfield. MSU’s loss came after taking a 12-point lead with 7:28 to go. Kari Koch’s bucket with 5:32 remaining game the Lady Bears a 70-60 lead before the Shockers went on a 10-2 run. WSU eventually tied the game at 75-75 with 14 seconds to go and took a three point lead with free throws, but MSU tied it with two free throws from Tahnee Balerio and one from Koch to force the extra period.

In overtime Wichita St. jumped out to a 5-0 run and never trailed.

Sarah Klassen scored a career-high 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Lady Bears, while Kari Koch added 24. Koch also dished out seven assists. Tiff Terwelp scored 11 and had 10 rebounds.

Wichita St. was led by Kiki Stephens and Taylor Steven who had 22 apiece.

With the loss, Missouri St. dropped to 6-4 on the season and 0-1 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Wichita St. improved to 7-2 and 1-0.
