Allen Hires Three Assistants For New MSU Staff

January 4, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

New Missouri St. football coach Terry Allen added the first three members of his coaching staff on Tuesday. Steve Brickey, who was the quarterbacks coach at Eastern Illinois last season, will be the new offensive coordinator. Brickey was the offensive coordinator at Indiana St. (2004) and Iowa St. (2000-2003). He attended Affton High School in St. Louis and was quarterback for the University of Missouri, graduating in 1976. He was a two-year graduate assistant at MU.

The two other assistants hired yesterday are D.J. Vokolek and Rob Bolks who were assistants for the University of Northern Iowa in their run to the NCAA Division II National Championship game this past season (they lost the game 21-16 to Appalachian St.). Vokolek, who joined the UNI staff in 2003, was the assistant head coach and linebackers coach. He’ll serve as Allen’s assistant head coach and defensive coordinator.

Bolks, who is a former Iowa St. football player, will be the secondary coach and will head up recruiting. He started at UNI in 2003.
