Former Baseball Manager Helps City Build New Ballpark

The southeast Missouri city of Jackson is getting some special help as it tries to build a new baseball field in a city park. Former St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals Manager Whitey Herzog is donating $25,000 to help build the field. Herzog has a foundation that provides money for baseball fields for young people. He says he’ll donate another $25,000 later. The entire project is expected to cost about $200,000 dolalrs.
