Blues Top Canucks

January 3, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

An early surge by the Blues was all they needed to beat the Canucks 4-1 in St. Louis. Doug Weight broke a scoreless tie at the 7:40 mark of the first period with a power-play goal assisted by Dennis Wideman and Mike Sillinger. It was his eighth goal of the season.

Vancouver tied the game at the 13:23 mark when Anson Carter netted his 14th goal of the season. After that the Blues countered with goals by Scott Young, his eighth, and Sillinger, his 13th to make it 3-1.

Goalie Curtis Sanford was perfect after Carter’s goal. He made 30 saves to get the win. Sillinger added an empty-netter with 1:39 to go to make it 4-1.
