Blunt to Bring Back Utilicare Fund

December 23, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Governor Matt Blunt says he will ask lawmakers to approve more than $6-Million for Winter energy relief. Blunt plans to resurrect the Utilicare fund, created by the Legislature in 1979. The program hasn’t been funded for years. Utilicare beneficiaries are low-income Missourians, those making less than 150 percent of the federal poverty level. Payments of up to $600 can be made to suppliers of winter heat; including natural gas, electricity and propane.
