Two Missouri Tigers have been named to the National College Baseball Writers Association’s All-American Team. Max Scherzer, who was the big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2005, has been named to the first team, while junior Hunter Mense has been named to the third team.

Scherzer was 9-4 and had a 1.86 ERA last season. He also struck out 186 batters, which is a Mizzou single-season record.

Mense did his damage at the plate as a sophomore, hitting .327 with three homers and 43 RBI.

Both players represented the country as members of Team USA this past summer.
