MU Faces Hawaii At Penn St. Regional

December 9, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The Missouri Volleyball team (24-4) will face 6th seeded Hawaii (27-6) at the Penn St. Regional on Friday. 10th seeded Mizzou advanced with wins over Missouri St. and Arkansas in the Columbia Regional last weekend. This marks the first trip ever to the Sweet 16 for Mizzou and it’s their fifth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Hawaii has won four national championships (1 AIAW, 3 NCAA) under head coach Dave Shoji, who has a record of 897-156-1 at Hawaii.

If Mizzou wins, they’ll face either 2nd-seeded Penn St. or Tennessee on Saturday in the final. Which ever team emerges will advance to the Final 4 in San Antonio.
