The Missouri Task Force on Eminent Domain nears the end of its work, with a final report due to Governor Matt Blunt by month’s end. The key recommendation deals with the definition of the term “blighted” as it pertains to eminent domain takeovers. Task Force Chairman Terry Jarrett praises the panel’s proposal that “blight” not be used for increased tax revenue or economic gain. Jarrett says one more meeting might be necessary if he is unable to tweak the final language for the final report.
