A Kansas City area man facing criminal charges of child support neglect wants DNA tests to confirm whether the child is his. The mother refuses, saying a court has already ruled he’s the father 14 years ago. The issue has been debated before the State Supreme Court. Assistant Jackson County Prosecutor, Raoul Stitt, says whether Montae Perkins is the biological child is irrevelent in light of the earlier court ruling. Perkin’s attorney, Edmund Shine, argues biology does matter to a man facing criminal charges. The court has taken the case under advisement and will hand down a ruling later.
