The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting that the Cardinals have offered free-agent pitcher A.J. Burnett a four-year offer worth around $10-million per season. Burnett has said that he wants a five-year deal. According to the paper, the Cardinals’ offer also included an option for a fifth year. Burnett posted a 12-12 record and a 3.44 ERA with the Marlins in 2005.
