Mabry Signs With Cubs

November 29, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Utility man John Mabry has agreed, in principle, to a one-year deal with the Cubs. Mabry, who was in his third stint with the Cardinals, hit .240 with eight home runs and 32 RBI’s in 2005. He played in 112 games.

Mabry broke into the big leagues with the Cardinals in 1994, playing six games. He remained in St. Louis until 1999, when he signed with the Mariners. After splitting a season in Seattle and San Diego, Mabry returned to St. Louis briefly in 2001. He then made stops in Florida, Philadelphia, Oakland and Seattle again before signing with St. Louis in 2004, hitting .296 that season.
