Ford to Announce Plans for Missouri Operations in January

November 22, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The head of Ford Motor Company says the company workers in Missouri will learn in January if they have jobs and what will be done with their assembly plants. The announcement is especially worrisome to workers at the Hazelwood plant, which makes vehicles that are not selling well. Production is down to one shift. Ford CEO Bill Ford says a major restructuring plan will be finished next month, reviewed, and put into place in January. Ford won’t say if his company’s cuts will rival those announce earlier this week by General Motors. GM is closing a nine assembly plants and laying off 30,000 people.
