Escaped Fugitive From Iowa Caught in Bootheel

November 18, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The second of the two men who escaped earlier this week from the Iowa State Prison in Fort Madison has been arrested in Missouri. Sergeant Ryan Holder with the Pemiscot County Sheriff’s Department in the Bootheel says Robert Legendre was nabbed this morning at a truck stop in the town of Steele. Legendre’s fellow escapee, Martin Moon, was arrested in Illinois on Thursday. Legendre is serving time for kidnapping and attempted murder. He will be taken to St. Louis later today to face additional charges before he is returned to Iowa.
