The record losing streak continued for the Blues on Wednesday with a 3-1 loss to the Blue Jackets. The latest defeat is their ninth in a row. Columbus’ David Vyrborny scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season, beating Blues goaltender Patrick Lalime in the first and second periods.

Todd Marchant got on the board with a goal in the third period to make it 3-0, Blue Jackets. St. Louis didn’t score until there were just 37 seconds remaining in the game when Lee Stempniak made good on a power-play opportunity. Petr Cajanek and Eric Boguniecki assisted on the goal. They failed on their previous eight power play attempts.

The Blues are now 0-4-2 on the road this season.
