The Blues set a franchise record on Sunday night with their eighth straight loss in a 4-1 defeat by the Red Wings in St. Louis. Twice before, the Blues have dropped seven in a row–the last time was in 1989.

Tomas Holmstrum scored two goals for Detroit, as the Red Wings improved to 7-0 on the road this season. Holmstrum’s second goal gave Detroit a 2-0 lead early in the second period. Mike Sillinger scored on a power-play goal 2:58 later to put the Blues on the board, but Holmstrum gave the Red Wings a two-goal advantage later in the period to make it 3-1.

Henrik Zetterberg scored the final goal of the game just 1:31 into the third period.

St. Louis is 12-1-1 against the Red Wings in their last 14 match ups.
