Suppan’s Option Picked Up By Cards

November 4, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Jeff Suppan will be with the Cardinals in 2006. The right handed pitcher’s option has been picked up. Suppan was 16-10 with a 3.57 ERA, marking the second straight year he’s won 16 (which is a career high). He’ll make $4 million next season, his third with the team.

The next question will be what the Cardinals want to do with Matt Morris. He’s a free agent. Chris Carpenter and Mark Mulder are under contract, while Jason Marquis is eligible for arbitration.

Suppan spent four full seasons with the Royals from 1999-2002.
