Plane Problem Forces Blunt to Cancel Events

November 4, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Governor Matt Blunt had to cut out a couple of stops in his tour of the state promoting his latest education initiative when the private plane he was riding in developed landing gear trouble. The plane had taken off from St. Joseph headed for Kirksville, but a landing gear indicator came on. The pilot diverted the plane to the Columbia Regional Airport where it had first taken off from today. It landed safely. Blunt Spokesman Spence Jackson has praise for the pilots and emergency personnel responding to the incident. Jackson says the Governor has no worries about traveling by plane in the future.
