Hansen Will Stay With Royals Despite Being Fired As Pitching Coach

November 2, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The Kansas City Royals and Guy Hansen won’t be parting ways. Hansen, who was fired as the Royals pitching coach at the end of the season, told the Kansas City Star that he’ll remain with the organization in some capacity through the end of his contract, which has two years remaining.

Under Hansen, the Royals 5.49 ERA was the worst in the majors in 2005. He was replaced by Bob McClure earlier this month.
