The NBA season gets underway tonight and three former University of Missouri players are currently in the league.

Kareem Rush, who was traded from the Lakers to the Bobcats early last season, is expected to start for Charlotte, as they take on the Bulls in their season opener tomorrow. This marks Rush’s fourth season in the NBA.

Keyon Dooling will start the season on the bench for the Magic, as he recovers from a bruised right knee. Dooling left the Heat as a free agent this past off-season. He played one season in Miami after spending the first four of his career with the L.A. Clippers. The Magic will face the Pacers at home in their season opener Wednesday.

Linas Kleiza, who was taken in the first round by the Nuggets, will begin his rookie season with the Nuggets. The Nuggets face the Spurs tonight.

The elder statesmen representing the black and gold won’t be in action. Anthony Peeler was released by the Wizards this off-season after 13 seasons in the NBA. He’s playing in Spain.
