A Jackson County judge temporarily blocks enforcement of the state’s new anti-abortion law because it might violate the constitutional right of free speech. Circuit Judge Charles Atwell hopes to have a full ruling on November 9th about the constitutionality of the law. The law says anybody who causes or helps a minor girl get an abortion in another state without parental consent can be sued. Planned Parenthood says the law keeps the company from giving advice to teenagers. The Attorney General’s office says the law only applies to counseling that would incite lawlessness.
