A lot of the talk about eminent domain concerns has centered on seizures of homes and farmland, but small businesses are watching developments closely, too. Brad Jones, the Missouri State Director for the National Federation of Independent Business, says the taking of private property for bigger development has small business owners concerned. The NFIB is closely watching the work being done by the Gvoernor’s Task Force on Eminent Domain. It will present a final report to the Governor by year’s end so that legislation can be put together in time for the 2006 General Assembly. The Task Force was set up in response to outrage over a U.S. Supreme Court ruling in a Connecticut case.
