The state’s automotive partnership is being called back to action to come up with ways to keep the Ford Hazelwood plant open, again. The partnership of state, St. Louis County and Hazelwood officials, created incentives for Ford when it previously considered shutting down the plant. State Economic Development Director Gregory Steinhoff says the state can’t give away too much this time. Ford plans a major realignment early next year. Part of the realignment will include what the company calls “significant plant closings.” Hazelwood is considered vulnerable.
