Deal Will Help Low-Income Missourians With Heating Costs

October 21, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The Missouri Public Service Commission and the Missouri Energy Development Association have reached agreement on a deal that will help people deal with Winter heating costs. The deal will waive all reconnection fees and suspend deposit requirements for customers receiving Low-income Home Energy Assistance Program or Utilicare assistance to pay their heating bills. The Governor’s office will work with the General Assembly to fund Utilicare from a portion of the unexpected revenues that will result from higher natural gas prices so that more money is available to help low-income Missourians.
