The Missouri Military Preparedness and Enhancement Commission has approved a draft report containing items it would like to see addressed by the Legislature in 2006. Commission Chairman Dalton Wright says that while part of the report calls for improving infrastructure at military facilities in Missouri, most of it focuses on improving the lives of military personnel. Representative David Pearce of Warrensburg, the panel’s Vice Chairman, says that while quality of life issues are a major part of this report, the Commission is also asking that Missouri be promoted as a location for military or defense related businesses. Wright says the final report could be voted on early next month, with legislation pre-filed in time for lawmakers to take up early in the new session of the General Assembly.
