Cardinals To Face The Astros Wednesday

October 10, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The National League Championship Series will be a repeat of the 2004 NLCS. The Cardinals and Astros will kick off the best-of-seven series on Wednesday at Busch Stadium, thanks to Houston’s three-games-to-one win over the Braves in their National League Division Series.

The Astros got a solo home run from Chris Burke in the 18th inning to give Houston a 7-6 win over Atlanta in Game 4. It was the longest playoff game in Major League Baseball history.

Expected starts for Game 1 of the NLCS are Chris Carpenter and Andy Pettite.
