Former State Senate Minority Leader Steve Ehlmann has his eyes set on the St. Charles County executive race. Ehlmann has raised $200,000 to fund his bid to replace his boss, Joe Ortwerth. Ehlmann, who left the Legislature to become a judge, serves currently as Ortwerth’s Director of Administration. The fundraising edge might scare off opponents, but at least one other Republican and one Democrat say they are considering the race.
