Missouri’s unemployment compensation system is being bolstered by several federal grants totaling about $1.5-Million. Tammy Cavender, with the State Labor Department, says Missouri had applied for eleven grants and received eight of them. The biggest chunk of the money – $450,000 – will be used to improve technology and security programs. More than a quarter-million dollars will be used to implement software to help claimants get the services they need quicker so they’ll be able to return to work sooner.
