One of the state’s business groups has launched an attempt to help employers provide their employees with health insurance. Associated Industries of Missouri has announced AIMCare, which is aimed at controlling costs by grouping employees from many small businesses and offering them different levels of insurance – depending on the kind of coverage they need. AIM President Gary Marble says small employers are currently subjected to sharp increases in coverage costs whenever as few as one employee needs to tap into the benefits. Marble says AIMCare insures the insurance by having enough people buying the coverage to allow an employer to absorb a major hit or two. AIMCare will be available as of next Monday.
