Royals Finally Solve Indians

September 26, 2005 By admin

The Royals finally beat the Cleveland Indians on Sunday, thanks to a little help from Mother Nature. With the game tied 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth, Paul Phillips sent a deep fly out to center field. Cleveland outfielder Grady Sizemore lost the ball in the sun. The ball dropped, Angel Berroa raced home and the Royals had a 5-4 win over the Tribe. The loss was only the third in the last 20 games for Cleveland. Emil Brown hit a two-run homer for the Royals, who had lost 10 straight games to the Indians. The Royals will now spend the final week of the regular season on the road. They finished with a 34-47 record at home.
