September 19, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The NASCAR Race For The Cup began on Sunday at New Hampshire International Speedway and was the winner. His victory moved him up seven spots to 3rd. Tony Stewart, who finished second on Sunday, still leads in points. Matt Kenseth was third and jumped three spots to number five on the points’ list. Greg Biffle was fourth and is second in points.

St. Louis native Rusty Wallace finished in sixth place. He fell from third to fourth in the points’ race.

Columbia’s Carl Edwards was 19th in the race and dropped one spot from eighth to ninth in the points’ race.

The top ten drivers after last week’s race qualified for the championship, or the Race For The Cup.

Jamie McMurray, who didn’t qualify for the championship was 12th on Sunday and moved up to 11th place in the standings—that’s as high as he can finish this season.
