Police and rescue agencies in Missouri and Kentucky are considering whether to file criminal charges against a woman whose cell phone hoax caused a widespread search near the Kansas city airport. Officers say an 18-year-old Kentucky woman claimed she had been kidnapped from Kansas City International Airport, raped and stabbed and thrown into a ditch near the airport. Platte County sheriff’s officers, officers from other nearby jurisdictions, helicopters from the Kansas City Police Department and rescue personnel from the Kansas City Fire Department all looked for the woman before it was discovered she was at her home in Nicholasville, Kentucky. She has voluntarily agreed to a psychological evluationand has checked herself into a hospital.
