Bacon Back, But Won’t Start; Crossett Replaces Hoenes As Punter

September 13, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The MU football team will get one of its starters back, but he won’t be starting. MU linebacker Marcus Bacon is fresh off a suspension after getting a DWI arrest last week. He could see playing time this week, but head coach Gary Pinkel indicated on Monday that Bacon has no chance of starting against Troy on Saturday.

The Tigers will have a change at punter. Matt Hoenes lost his starting job after averaging 11.5 yards per punt in Saturday’s home loss against New Mexico. Taking over for Hoenes is Adam Crossett, who is also the place kicker. Crossett finished the 2004 season as the starting punter.
