St. Louis School District Tries New Approach to Problem Students

More than 50 St. Louis public schools are opening special classrooms for suspended students. The district plans to use the classrooms to deal with discpline problems and students with behavior issues. They’ll be used instead of out-of-school suspensions. School officials say kicking a student out of school costs the district state aid and hurts student grades.
