Governor Matt Blunt has already asked for Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon to look into whether there might be any price gouging going on at the gas pumps in Missouri, now he wants to move beyond the state’s borders. He’s asking for the federal government to investigate whether the big oil companies might be responsible for the big price hikes. He’s written to the U.S. Attorney General and the Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission asking them to investigate. Blunt says 93 percent of the price of gasoline is set before it arrives at a gas station.
