Missouri Colleges Reach Out to Hurricane Victims

September 2, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Many of Missouri’s colleges and universities are waiving at least some of their fees for students driven out of their schools by Hurricane Katrina. Missouri State University in Springfield is waiving credit-hour fees for students from Missouri who are coming back to the state. University of Missouri system spokesman Joe Moore says the four campuses are offering various cost-cuts and financial help for displaced students. It’s not a coordinated effort by Missouri’s higher education institutions. They’re acting voluntarily.
