Cardinals pitching coach Dave Duncan was suspended four games and fined for his part in an argument that turned physical with members of the Pirates coaching staff last month. Duncan and Pirates manager Lloyd McClendon got into a heated shouting match, which reached a crescendo when Pirates hitting coach, and former Cardinal, Gerald Perry punching Duncan.
Perry was suspended for eight games and McClendon received a one-game suspension.
