Changes on the Way to Powerball

August 24, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

State lottery officials hope they can pep up the Powerball game by making it harder to win. Next Wednesday’s drawing will require players to guess two more numbers accurately. The starting jackpots will be bigger, will increase by more each week, and, on the average, will be bigger when somebody wins. State Lottery Director Gary Gonder says the changes should pump up interest in the game. He says the growth in the number of states in which the game is played, and the growth in the number of players also means the game needs to change.
