Schools Feeling the Pinch of High Gas Prices

Some school districts have been look at adjustments in their transportation policies as fuel prices continue to climb. The State Education Department says buses take 550,000 children to and from school, travel 120-Million miles a year, and get six to eight miles per gallon. The Department’s Tom Quinn hopes districts don’t reduce services to save on fuel costs. Quinn concedes some districts might consider limiting extracurricular travel if prices for fuel keep going up.
