Water Patrol Chief Needs More Officers and Better Equipment

August 16, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Equipment and manpower are the two biggest challenges facing the Water Patrol’s new Commander. Colonel Rad Talburt took over the Patrol earlier this Summer. He says an aging fleet of boats and land vehicles is of great concern to him. And, Talburt says the Patrol needs more officers to get the job done as well. He understands that the improvements in better equipment and incentives to keep good patrolmen are expensive and might not be done in one budget. But, Talburt believes if the Patrol is able to chip away a bit at a time, the necessary improvements might be realized.
