State Fair Begins With Musicians Cancelling Performance

August 12, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The Missouri State Fair is underway, and already is dealing with a setback. The musical group Lynard Skynard has cancelled tonight’s performance because singer Johnny Van Zant has swollen vocal cords and is under a doctor’s care. State Fair officials say more than 8,400 tickets had been sold. The Fair is offering refunds and will have substitute performers avialble for a free show at the grandstand tonight.
