Even with a lineup featuring just two opening-day starters, the Cardinals still finished off a three-game sweep in Milwaukee. Jeff Suppan outdueled Ben Sheets as the Cardinals shutout the Brewers 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon. Suppan allowed just four hits over seven scoreless innings and earned his 11th win of the season. David Eckstein scored the first run of the game for St. Louis and drove in the other two. Ben Sheets was the hard-luck loser for Milwaukee. Sheets threw a complete-game, five-hitter. He struck out nine and retired 19 straight batters at one point. The Cardinals moved a season-high 32 games over .500 at 73-41.
