MoDOT Expects Good Chunk of Change From Federal Highway Bill

August 10, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

After several years of crafting, the new federal Highway Bill is finally signed. The State Transportation Department’s Chief Engineer Kevin Keith says, while he needs to fully review what’s in the 1,700 page document, it should mean more federal road money coming to Missouri. He says it could be $200-Million dollars more a year for the next six years. Keith says MoDOT already has much of that money planned into it’s five-year Statewide Transportation Improvement Plan, or STIP. He says while much of the money was programmed into specific projects dictated by Congress, those projects are the ones MoDOT has been asking for money to do.
