HHS Secretary Visits Missouri to Promote Medicare Drug Benefit

August 8, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The federal government’s new prescription drug plan won’t kick in until January 1st, but information on the new program will soon start to show in Missouri homes. Beginning in October, information on the new Medicare prescription drug plan will start showing up in pharmacies, churches, doctors’ offices, and it will even be sent to seniors’ homes. Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt has been touring the country to promote the plan. During a trip through Missouri, he spoke of how seniors will have some choice. The costs will vary, depending on an individual’s or a couple’s income. The sign-up period begins November 15th.
