Springfield Doubles Up Arkansas

August 4, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The Springfield Cardinals belted five home runs en route to a 12-6 win over the Arkansas Travelers in Little Rock Wednesday night. Travis Hanson led the way with two, two-run homers and six RBI’s in a 3-for-4 performance. Papo Bolivar, Gabe Johnson and Dan Moylan also went deep. Johnson’s three-run homer gave the Cardinals a 6-0 lead in the third inning.

Arkansas also sent the ball deep, hitting four home runs of their own, but the Cardinals power proved to be too much. Cardinals pitcher Randy Leek (11-6) got the win, though he was far from perfect on Wednesday. He lasted six innings and gave up five runs on eight hits.
