Cardinals To Leave KMOX And Buy KTRS

August 4, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

If reports are accurate, the St. Louis Cardinals are about to get into the radio business. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the team is about to purchase about 50 percent of KTRS radio in St. Louis and make it the new radio home for the Cardinals next year.

This move would leave KMOX in the cold after airing the Cardinals for the last 52 years.

The Post-Dispatch cited an unnamed KTRS board member who said an official announcement about the purchase will happen today. Another source told the paper that Thursday will be a “fun” day at the radio station.
