Governor Matt Blunt has asked the Missouri Farm Service Agency to conduct damage assessment reports for eight counties to determine the severity of the drought. This follows an earlier request that 106 counties be assessed for drought damage and is a prelude to a asking for federal financial assistance. The Governor says he expects some relief from Washington. He can’t say, however, whether that assistance might come in the form of low interest loans.
