July 28, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Governor Matt Blunt has called special elections to fill vacancies in one Senate and two House districts. The special voting will be conducted on Tuesday, November 8th. The death of Senator Larry Gene Taylor of Shell Knob left a vacancy in southwest Missouri. The death of Representative Richard Byrd of Kirkwood created a vacancy in St. Louis County. A further vacancy in the House came about as a result of the special election that saw Frank Barnitz of Lake Spring move from the House to the Senate. Candidates wishing to run must file with the Secretary of State’s office by 5 pm on September 19th.
