Tiger Woods outlasted Colin Montgomerie at the British Open to win his second straight major and his 10th overall. Woods shot a two-under 70 to finish at 14-under par, five strokes better than Montgomerie.

Former Jefferson City Helias High School golfer John Daly shot a two-over 73 on Sunday to finish at five-under for the tournament, tied for 15th place. Daly won the second of his two majors by winning the British Open in 1995.

Kansas City native Tom Watson was able to make the cut by following up a 75 on Thursday with a 70 on Friday. He shot a 70 again on Saturday and finished up the tournament with an even-par 72. He was even for the tournament and finished tied for 41st. Five of Watson’s eight major championships have been at the British Open, including his last in 1983.
